The firm was started by Brian S. Channon, a 30-year veteran of hospital management and consulting. He is one of the leading consultants in healthcare strategic cost management and performance excellence and has advised senior executives and board members in over 350 organizations.

Over the course of his career, Brian has helped dozens of organizations achieve significant performance improvements while also building the foundation for lasting results. Prior to starting Channon & Associates, Mr. Channon held senior positions at Wellspring Partners, Huron Consulting and Kaufman Hall where he developed and implemented many of the tools, methodologies, and processes used in their cost reduction and performance improvement consulting to hospitals, health systems, and large medical groups.

His primary expertise is in leading senior leadership teams through large and diverse performance improvement and cost reduction projects. Brian’s clients and peers describe him as having a unique ability to:

Brian has taught in the graduate schools of University of Southern California and the University of the Redlands and speaks regularly to leadership groups and professional associations throughout the country.

His work in the areas of hospital bed management and patient placement algorithms has been incorporated by the Health Care Advisory Board in its library of best practice publications.

Mr. Channon has an M.B.A. with a Hospital Administration specialization from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona.
